KI-Media2 KI Media Pissed off with Mr. “Pissed Off”

Re: Peace, stability and education are what Cambodia needs right now if she is to remain on the map of the world; smaller, it looks certainly so, but Cambodians only have themselves to blame and we can see how Cambodia has steadfastly lost her land to her cunning and obviously more practical neighbours.

Mr. Pissed Off,

Please elaborate your comment in bold in the above reference.
Thank you.

Pissed Off’s response:

Division among Cambodians has been a known fact for many centuries and it has allowed Cambodia’s 2 cunning and ambitious neighbours to exploit this weakness to the fullest extent posssible.

Cambodian so-called leaders do not usually put the country’s interest first; rather they put their clan’s interest in the name of the nation.

Amid all the threats and dangers from our eastern neighbour, the Khmers still cannot find unity as unity has always been a rare commodity in Cambodia; it is too easy to understand, but too difficult to put in place. Just look at those who want to fight and remove Hun Sen and you can see that there are several groups which, up to now, still cannot find a common ground to work together and each aims to weaken the other to collect the non-CPP votes instead.

The royalists have 2 camps. The democrats have also 2 camps or even 3 if we also count those who are pro-Khmer Republic.

You can blame the Vietnamese and the Thais, but that won’t change the situation on the ground and the fact that if you are weak, you will be trampled upon.

Remember that, though claiming to be Buddhists, Cambodians would do the same as the Thais or Viets, if given a chance, as far as expanding territory is concerned.

The only way to stop your neighbours from desiring your land is to work hard in harmony and unity to show that they can’t steal from you without incurring great damage and loss unto themselves. Until then the big fish eats the medium fish, the medium fish eats the small fish and the small fish eats the worm.

Just a couple of questions remain – Do we not know that Khmer has been influenced/infiltrated by the Chinese and the Vietnamese after all these times, intelligently and honestly? Do you we all honestly think that the Killing Fields is the product of Khmer and Khmer alone?

Finally, do we really think that Cambodians only have themselves to blame as “Pissed Off” has asserted?
